How the calculation works
Words use the selected language's browser word segmentation. Characters count visible grapheme clusters, including spaces and punctuation, rather than UTF-16 code units. Speaking time = word count ÷ words per minute × 60 seconds. Browser language data can differ slightly; duration excludes pauses, pronunciation and performance choices.
Worked example
At 150 words per minute, a 300-word script takes approximately 2 minutes before pauses. Hindi narration may need a different speed: time a sample and enter your measured rate.
Method version 1.0.0. This planning tool does not fetch provider rates or send your inputs to a server.
Common questions
Is speaking time exact?
No. The speed is your planning assumption, not a measured voice model. Allow additional time for pauses, names and emphasis.
Will Maviter store my script?
No. This calculator processes the text in this browser tab. It does not send or automatically save it, and refreshing clears it.
